Finally my camera has return to my hands after I pass Emily a bunch of Go Chap 's

Painful... not entirely sure if necessary.. But brand spanking new CCD now. Compared to Mut's predicament (which was accidental).. mine was definately deserved.. Dun Fak with sensor-tive equipment .... coppish?.. that's like tattooed into my head now.

It was 2 weeks ago i got it back. Have yet to shoot anything since.

Today I decided to blog: cuz' I m troubled. What the future hold for me? I m still stuck on the island... An island filled with countless crazy buggers who has complete disregard of decent ppl like myself.. (if I can be call decent la).. no matter on the asphalt roadways or the office.

Second fiddle... office boy... polyon pusher... Man, what the future holds... Why can't it be simpler? May be i shud become a monk or somethng... but what is a monk in this country man? beggers? U know.. those at food courts.. walking up to u with their hands out...

Sigh.. I think i need to shave my head.

Sigh... after the traumatizing fax from the Nikon service center. I m just standing by for dear Emily to call me with the good news.(in case my girlfriend reads this, Emily is the lady maning/ i mean womaning the counter at the service center)
In the mean time, I got myself a new DVD burner for a total of RM175: warranty one month... Well, this is the second DVD burner I got.. the first one was returned (with the first day) because the tray would come out and no light come on.. DEFECTIVE.. luckily for me, my friend manage to get this second BURNER.

Then I slap the D70 Sticker that another friend gave me... Finally found a place for the sticker hahahaha...

IDIOT... That's me...

Perhaps I shouldn't be upset at something that has been done. Perhaps I should learn by now after 30+ years of existance that I M truly an idiot...

Nikon just called and the bill is .... well, let's just say I could get another lens for that price... Well, there goes a portion of my month's pay...

Will I be forever cowardice after this.. or Will my continual disregard for caution burn my pocket book again?...

My Nikon is back with Nikon again

Ah yes, recently I got my D70 body back earlier than my kit lens.

My kit lens' repairs requires some parts from Japan that is pending delivery to the service center. Having an itchy shutter finger, I ask to havethe body back first... didn't I blog about this? ... anyhow, attempted to clean my sensor on numerous occasions... in the process I scratched my focussing screen... IDIOT!!!

Well, since my warranty is valid till June this year, I decided to send the body back again hoping Nikon will let me have a new focus screen for free, and I asked for a sensor clean this time (which I found out from Nikon is FOC ... now why did I go and clean it myself? IDIOT...)

On the very same day I decided to send my Nikon body back again, my friendly camera vendor called to tell my my new SB800 has arrived.. Yippee... errr.. but I m sending the body in... after a dilematic deliberation, Aiya.. get it fixed first la....

So I m bodyless, with a new flash, and 2 lens that I can't use till the body comes back...

And my girl finally got a job on the island.... blessing or damnation? Time will tell.

Still stuck in Penang!!! Malaysia is truly a third world country!!!

The People I Loath!!!

There are certan folks at work that I utterly despises. Over the year that I have spent/wasted/rotted (pick one) here in Penang, I have heard rants of injustice during performance review, I have seen abuse of "ka-ching-ness" with system administrator to give his work priority over other colleagues, I have received an unsincere wedding invite from him (my prejusice is that he only invited me cuz there were tables to fill and angpow to make up for cost). Basically there are folks in this office that I do not want to have anything to do with.

Perhaps I m just blogging this because my friend told me that I m judgemental about folks that I judge him just by the cover. I may be still partial, perhaps blunt on my coments, but I belive 7 years is more than enuf time to see thru a person.

Perhaps my inability to tolerate bullshit will be my ultimate downfall.

I utterly despise the housemates I have too. Particularly when it comes with cleaniness. What to do, I m not a native in Penang, have to rent, have to share rent, and property in Penang is unreasonably expensive. No matter what they claim, Penang IS NOT a city....

CCD Cleaning... Perhaps should be left to the pros

After about 3 weeks I got my D70 back from Nikon. Well, apparently the sensor was not cleaned. Or was it? From the long wait, I have read thru a many web articles about cleaning the CCD from Dust.

Well, went and tried it. Tried I did. Man, it's tough. I have ran thru about 2 and a half stack of cigerrette paper before I finally gave up.

There were moments when the result was so clean except for tiny bits of specks. Then I went on thinking "hmmm.. one more time will clean that right up"... well, end up putting more dust on it. Then the process repeated a couple of hundreds times.

phew... I think it can still be cleaner. But the flu I m having right now and with my girlfriend nagging me to rest for my flu, I have to save this for another day. Perhaps I never shudda read any of these dust removal stuff.. it's more trouble than helpful.

How can a TV station be showing "LIVE" sport event and Jump abruptly to ANOTHER Live event without the first one ending yet. Yes, it was going to be an overtime game for the first event, but the least you could do is tell the viewer what they gonna swap to and when it will be replay.

Guess what... Overtime finished on the NBA game and the Fxxking Race in Sepang haven't even start. WHAT? Ur pre-race program so great that u can just piss off all the basketball fans watching the other game?

Well what to do, can always use the excuse.

My D70 kit has been reduced to a piece of paper. I was having a problem with the Kit lens. It wasn't autofocussing and the max aperture was somehow stuck at 3.8 (it should be 3.5). Well, i hope the good folks at Nikon bring my kit back to me healthy.

Bought this thing last year june. Might as well give it a good service before the warranty expires... The Penang Branch of Nikon was pretty easy to find. All I had to do was park in front of City Bayview Hotel, take a walk to the next building, hope on the elevator for the 8th floor and ring that door bell... Drop the camera fill some forms (actually the nice lady will fill it for u). That's it, surrendered the equipment to them. And hope all this will not cost me more than the petrol and coins i stuff into that parking meter.

A friend of mine took a picture of the moon with his 20D 200mm lens.

Didn't know 200mm is enough reach for the moon. Apparently true for 1.6x crop...

My 1.5x crop... well, not quite...

The best I could do is this... hmmm... I guess for astro photography, the current equipment won't cut it... oh well... come back to earth again then .
